Nekonyancer*Parks* is played over the course of 3 rounds called *Seasons.* In each Season, your two [blue]*Hikers*[/blue] will make their way down the Trail, stopping at Trail Sites along the way.2pks-hiker4-0

NekonyancerAt Trail Sites, Hikers can collect *Resources* to visit Parks, take *Photos* of the beautiful vistas, and encounter *Wildlife* (from a safe distance). Along the way, you'll want to acquire [green]*Gear*[/green] and [blue]*Canteens*[/blue] to improve your hiking experience.3pks-site4

NekonyancerOnce all Hikers reach [red]*Trail’s End,*[/red] it’s time to set up for the next Season. At the end of the third Season, the hike (and the game) is over! [green]BGA will count up the points and see who enjoyed the parks the most![/green]4pks-site11

NekonyancerAll Hikers start each season at the [red]*Trailhead.*[/red] On each player's turn, they must select one of their Hikers and move it forward along the trail. They will then acquire resources or perform whatever actions are provided at their destination.5pks-hiker4-0

NekonyancerThen they'll trigger the action at the Site! This Site allows the player to roll the [red]*Trail Die*[/red] and gain whatever resources are shown on it!1pks-site1-marker

NekonyancerOkay, now it's our turn to visit a Trail Site! BGA [green]*highlighted*[/green] all the Trail Sites we can visit. We can skip over as many sites as we like, but we can't visit [red]*this site*[/red] because it's occupied by another Hiker.1pks-site2

NekonyancerNote that each space has resources (or an action) indicated both *above* the space and *on* it. Resources *above* each Site can be gained over and over again. The resources *on* each Site represent *weather* and will be picked up by the first visitor! [green](Step 10/59)[/green]2pks-site4

NekonyancerThe third Site looks pretty good to me. It provides 2💧, and there's a third💧available for the first visitor! *Click on the indicated Site!*3pks-site4-marker

Nekonyancer*Great!* We gained 3💧. All of it was placed in our [red]*Backpack.*[/red] As you can see, it can hold up to *12* resource tokens at a time.1pks-resources11941354-backpack

NekonyancerWhenever we gain💧, we have the option of placing some on our *Canteen board* instead of our Backpack. It's made up of [blue]*3 rows.*[/blue] Each row can accommodate two Canteen tokens and one💧. NekonyancerNext turn! We can choose either one of our Hikers to move. *1.* Select the one at the *Trailhead.* *2.* Move it to the indicated space!1pks-site0

Nekonyancer*Good!* This space allows us to choose one of two options: - Take a new Canteen token. - Pay 1 resource to take a Photo.1pks-site4-marker

NekonyancerLet's go for a [red]*Canteen token.*[/red] There are always three tokens available in the top-left corner of the board, but we can take a face-down token if we don't like any of them.2pks-canteen14

NekonyancerLet's do it! *1.* Click on [blue]*"Gain a Canteen"*[/blue] at the top. *2.* Select the token with🌟🌟on it. *3.* Click on [blue]*"Take selected Canteen."*[/blue] *4.* Place the token on [red]*this slot*[/red] on our Canteen Board (in our Player Info Panel). *5. NekonyancerThere's one more thing I need to mention about the Trail Site we just visited. Did you notice the [red]*Ladybug*[/red] under it?2pks-bug

NekonyancerWhen a Hiker visits the Site with the Ladybug, they acquire the [red]*Shutterbug Badge!*[/red] Whenever we take a Photo, the Shutterbug Badge lets us take a second, though we'll have to pay another resource to do so. [green]Each photo is worth 1 point at the end of the game![/green]3pks-badge

Nekonyancer*But beware!* If our Hiker moves on, and someone else's Hiker visits the Ladybug Site, they'll steal the Shutterbug Badge from us! [green]We should try to take as many photos as we can while we still have it![/green]4pks-bug

NekonyancerNext turn! I know we have "Fill up our canteen" and "Take Photos" on our To-Do list, but there's a Site up ahead that lets us [red]*buy a Gear card.*[/red] I don't want to miss that opportunity! [green]Each Gear card gives us a special bonus when we take a specific action or visit a specific Site![/green]1pks-site6-marker

NekonyancerThere are always three Gear cards in the display. Each card costs 1, 2, or 3🌟, shown in the top-right corner of the card. If we don't like any of the displayed cards, we can buy a *random* card from the deck for 2🌟.1pks-gear3

NekonyancerSince we have the Shutterbug Badge, let's buy the *Wide Angle Lens.* It will let us take a Photo when we visit [blue]*this specific Site!*[/blue] *1.* Select the *Wide Angle Lens.* *2.* Click on *"Buy selected Gear"* at the top.2pks-gear8

NekonyancerLet's get our other Hiker to Trail's End! This time, let's take the top space so we can learn about the *Parks* action. *Click on "Parks!"* [green](Step 40/59)[/green]1pks-site10

Nekonyancer[blue]The *Parks* action allows us to...[/blue] • *Visit* any number of Parks from the display (and/or reserved ones in our inventory), paying resources and scoring points for each one. OR • *Reserve* a park for later.1pks-card37

NekonyancerEach Park's resource cost and victory point value are clearly shown near the bottom of the card. Some Parks, like Theodore Roosevelt and Olympic, also have *bonus effects* that trigger instantly when visited.2pks-card37

NekonyancerIn this case, we don't have enough resources to visit any of the Parks, so we'll have to *reserve* one instead. [blue]But which one?[/blue]3pks-card37

NekonyancerTo help us decide, we should check our [red]*Passion card,*[/red] which BGA gave us at the beginning of the game. Our card is entitled "Adventure." If we visit two parks with instant effects, we can flip it over and either... • Activate its *Gear effect* for the rest of the game. • Gain its *End Game Bonus.* [green][tip] You can hover over the card for more information![/green]4pks-passion8

NekonyancerWe're in luck; the Olympic and Theodore Roosevelt Parks both have instant effects. *1.* Click on [blue]*"Reserve a Park"*[/blue] at the top. *2.* Select *Olympic National Park.* *3.* Click on [blue]*"Reserve selected Park"*[/blue] at the top.5pks-card51

NekonyancerAt this point, only one player (our opponent) still has Hikers on the trail. They can no longer visit Trail Sites. On their turn, they must go directly to [red]*Trail's End.*[/red] In this case, their last hiker was on the last Site anyway.1pks-site9

NekonyancerOkay, everyone's Hikers have reached *Trail's End,* so the first season (Spring) is over! Whenever a season ends, one player will receive a *Season Bonus.* According to [red]*this tile,*[/red] whoever has the most🔺tokens will get a free photo!1pks-board-inner-seasonBonus1

NekonyancerIn this case, we have one🔺token, and our opponent has 0, so we'll get the Photo. If we were tied, we would *both* get one.2pks-resources11941354-backpack-rsc2-0

NekonyancerAfter we received the Photo, BGA went through 3 steps to prepare the board for the second season! *1.* The entire Trail was rearranged. *2.* Weather resources (first visitor bonuses) were restocked. *3.* The rightmost Gear card was discarded, and a new one was dealt from the deck.3pks-site2

NekonyancerBGA also went through our stuff, adjusting three things: *1.* The💧on our Canteen board was drained, allowing the Canteen tokens to be triggered again. [green](Step 50/59)[/green]4pks-resources11941354-canteen

Nekonyancer*2.* Each player's [red]*Campfire Token*[/red] was *lit.* We actually started the game with this token, but it was on its *extinguished* side, so I didn't bother mentioning it. Lit campfires allow 1 Hiker to move to the *same Site* as another Hiker. Doing so will extinguish the fire.6overall_player_board_11941354-campfire-icon

Nekonyancer*3.* Both of our Hikers were returned to the [red]*Trailhead.*[/red] Now we're ready to start our next hike! There's just one more thing I want to show you: how to *visit* a Park. [blue]I'll fast-forward a couple turns...[/blue]7pks-site0

NekonyancerOkay, our Hiker just moved to the *"Parks"* space. We have just enough resources to visit the Rocky Mountain National Park. *1.* Click on [blue]*"Visit a Park"*[/blue] at the top. *2.* Select Rocky Mountain National Park. *3.* Click on [blue]*"Visit selected Park!"*[/blue] BGA already selected most of the resources we'll need for it, but we have to manually apply our wild Wildlife resource. *4.* Use the *"+"* button to apply 1 Wildlife, which will be used as 1🌲. *5. Nekonyancer*Great!* We earned 6 points from that! If we had more resources, we could visit another Park in the same action (possibly the one we reserved earlier), but we don't. Oh well. *Click on [red]"End turn"[/red] at the top!*1pks-card15

NekonyancerOkay, you've seen enough! [blue]At the end of the third season (Fall), BGA will give out some last-minute points for...[/blue] • The [red]*Fall Season bonus.*[/red] The condition will change, but the reward is always *3* points. • having the most *Photos.* In a 2-player game, this player earns *3* points. With more players, whoever has the *most/2nd most* gets *4/2* points.1pks-board-inner-seasonBonus3

NekonyancerOnce you have a little more experience with the game, you might consider tweaking the *Lobby Options!* There are two things you can control: *1. Passion choices.* Instead of being dealt a random Passion card, each player can choose one of two choices.3maintitlebar_content

Nekonyancer*2. Camping Mode.* In this variant, three tents are placed above random Trail Sites. When a Hiker visits one, they can either use the Site as normal or move the tent to the camping board to select a different reward.
