NekonyancerDuring each round of *Lorenzo il Magnifico,* players will take turns assigning tasks to their four family members. The most critical task is purchasing *development cards,* which usually cost resources. Each card can provide resources, special abilities, or victory points. NekonyancerEach player's four family members are represented by [blue]*four cylinders.*[/blue] Right now, ours are waiting patiently just above our estate (player board). You might need to *scroll down* a little to see them.3maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerEach [blue]*family member*[/blue] has a *colored dot* on the top (perhaps it's a hat) that corresponds to a die of the same color. At the beginning of each round, those [red]*three dice*[/red] are rolled, determining the *Value* of each family member for that round. NekonyancerFor example, BGA rolled a *4* with the black die this round. Therefore, each player's family member with a black hat has a *Value of 4* this round.5obrDiceWrapperId

NekonyancerEach player's fourth family member does not have a hat and therefore does not correspond to a die. The *Value* of this family member is *0*... but only according to the rules of this game. NekonyancerThe most important thing we can do with our family members is place them on the main board to get [red]*Development Cards.*[/red] There are four different types of cards. At the beginning of each round, BGA reveals four cards of each type and arranges them in four columns, called *Towers.*7obrTowerPurpleId1

NekonyancerTo take a card, we need to place a family member on the action space next to it, but this is only allowed if the family member has a high enough *Value.* The action spaces along the bottom of the board are the cheapest, requiring only 1 Value. [green]The higher the action space, the higher the required Value![/green]8obrTowerGreenId4

NekonyancerAction spaces requiring Values of 5 or 7 come with *immediate bonuses,* indicated by jagged arrows. For example, the action space next to [red]*this card*[/red] requires a family member with a Value of 7, and it grants 2 wood. NekonyancerBefore we move on, let's learn more about the card we just took. *Scroll down to our estate* (player board). Blue development cards are called [blue]*Characters.*[/blue] Characters are always placed to the right of our estate, as you can see. They always cost coins and usually make it easier to acquire or activate other cards.2obrPlayerConfig

NekonyancerLet's take a closer look at the card. *Click on it to bring up a detailed description!* [blue]Each card has...[/blue] • a *cost* in the top-left corner. • an *immediate effect* in the middle (accompanied by a jagged arrow). • a *permanent effect* at the bottom.3obrPlayerConfig

NekonyancerIn this case, the card we bought cost us *2 coins* (in addition to the 1 worker that we used to increase our family member's value). It gave us an *immediate bonus* of 3 military points, which we'll learn more about later. Its *permanent bonus* gives our family members bonus Value when acquiring [green]green[/green] development cards.5obrPlayerConfig

Nekonyancer*Close the Warlord's description box by clicking anywhere outside of this white textbox.* As you can see in the bottom-right corner of our estate, we'll earn *1/3/6/10/15/21* points for having *1/2/3/4/5/6* characters at the end of the game. Nekonyancer[blue]There are two reasons for this:[/blue] *1.* Each player can only have one family member of their color on each tower. That's why we can't take any other blue cards. We already have a member of our color on that tower.2obrTowerPurpleId1

Nekonyancer*2.* If a family member is present at a tower, other family members (from ANY player) will have to pay 3 coins to be placed at the same tower. Our opponent placed a family member at the [red]*yellow tower.*[/red] Thus, it would cost us an extra 3 coins to take a yellow card ourselves!3obrTowerPurpleId1

Nekonyancer[blue]*This card*[/blue] is no longer selectable because it's simply too expensive for us. It costs *1* coin on its own (shown in the top-left corner), which means we'll need *4* coins total to get it. We only have *3* coins left in our [red]*inventory!*[/red]4obrTowerYellowId3

Nekonyancer[green]Good thing we're in the market for the green card, not a yellow![/green] Let's buy the card at the top of the green tower. It requires a Value of *7,* and our black-hat family member has a Value of *4.* But thanks to our [blue]Warlord card,[/blue] its Value is increased by *2* when buying green cards. We'll only need 1 worker! *Click [red]here[/red] to place the family member. Then [blue]"Confirm"[/blue] your action at the top.*5obrTowerGreenActionId1

NekonyancerIf you inspect the space to the left of our card, you'll see that we started the game with a Harvest icon printed right on our board. When triggered, it provides 1 wood, 1 stone, and 1 worker. That icon only requires a value of *1,* while our new card requires a value of *5.*5obrPlayerGreenId_1_11941354

NekonyancerTo take a *Harvest Action,* we'll need to place a family member [red]*here.*[/red] We'll then activate *every* harvest icon on our board whose Value requirement is met by the family member we used. When we do, we'll immediately gain 1 coin and 1 *Privilege🗞️,* which means we can choose 1 [blue]of the following:[/blue] • 1 wood and 1 stone. • 2 workers. • 2 coins. • 2 military points. • 1 Faith. Nekonyancer[red]Here's the most important part![/red] Unlike most spaces, the [red]*Council Palace*[/red] space can accommodate any number of family members from any number of players. At the end of the round, the [blue]*player order*[/blue] will be reevaluated depending on who has the most family members on the space. If there are ties, the family member that is furthest to the *left* will go earlier. [green][tip] Turn order is very, very important in this game![/green]3maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerAt the end of the *2nd, 4th,* and *6th* rounds, all players may spend *all* their Faith for victory points. For example, spending 6 Faith would be worth 7 victory points. NekonyancerWell, that's true, but the church needs to observe our piety each time! NekonyancerEach time we are excommunicated, we will receive a harsh [red]*penalty.*[/red] These are the penalties for the 2nd/4th/6th round, going left to right. For example, if we fail to spend at least 4 Faith at the end of the 4th round, we'll gain the middle penalty. You can click on any of them for more details. [green][tip] The penalties will be different each time you play![/green]4obrExcoMalusId2

NekonyancerNext, it's our opponent's turn again, and they're out of [green]*coins.*[/green] They can't afford any new development cards, so what can they do? Well, they could place a family member on the [red]*Council Palace*[/red] space. They'll still get 1 coin and 1 Privilege, but since we got there first, they won't get to go first next round (unless they place a second family member there).5maintitlebar_content

NekonyancerThere are two spaces in the market. One grants [red]*5 coins,*[/red] and the other grants [blue]*5 workers.*[/blue] As you can see, our opponent opted for 5 coins. Nekonyancer[red]Time for our fourth and final turn of the round.[/red] We have one more family member left. The one without a corresponding die. The one who wasn't *Value*-able enough to even get a hat. The one so unimportant that we left them for the end of the round. NekonyancerDid you notice that this member's piece is *gray* instead of [blue]*blue,*[/blue] like the rest of our family? [red]And do you remember this rule?[/red] *1.* Each player can only have one family member of their color on each tower.4zeroDiceButtonId

NekonyancerSince they aren't blue, this member - and only this member - can be placed on the *same tower* as another member of our family! [red]However, they are still subject to the second placement rule:[/red] *2.* If a family member is present at a tower, other family members (from ANY player) will have to pay 3 coins to be placed at the same tower.5zeroDiceButtonId

Nekonyancer[green]Hmm... new plan.[/green] There's a very useful blue card [blue]*here.*[/blue] It will increase the Value of all our Harvest actions in the future. Taking the card will mean we can't avoid *excommunication,* but hopefully it will pay off by the end of the game!5obrTowerBlueId3

NekonyancerRound 3 has begun, and if you look at the new set of cards, you might notice that they're a bit stronger over all than the ones we've seen so far. That's because we've been dealing with *Round 1/2* cards until now. These are *Round 3/4* cards! Luckily, our 5 Value member has a +2 bonus because of the [blue]Farmer card[/blue] that we got at the end of the first round! *Select the [red]Harvest action space,[/red] in the bottom-left corner of the board!* You should be able to see all the Territory cards we can successfully harvest from, given our Value. *Click on [blue]"Confirm"[/blue] at the top!*1obrPlayerConfig

Nekonyancer[green]Our Territory-focused strategy is off to a great start![/green] There's just a couple more things I need to mention before you go. NekonyancerOur opponent has been focusing on Yellow cards, which are called *Buildings.* They always have resource costs. Buildings generate resources when the player uses a *Production* action with a high enough Value. *Production* actions are pretty much the same as *Harvest* actions, except they're for Buildings instead of Territories.2obrPlayerYellowId_2_92143487

NekonyancerBy the way, the *Harvest/Production* section of the main board is a little different in games with *3* or *4* players. NekonyancerOkay, that's everything! At the end of the sixth round, the game will end, and BGA will count up the points! [blue]Each player's score includes...[/blue] • Points generated throughout the game. • *1/4/10/20* points for having *3/4/5/6* Territories. • *1/3/6/10/15/21* points for having *1/2/3/4/5/6* Characters. • Points for each Venture card. • 5 points for the player with the most military points. 2 points for 2nd place. • 1 point for every 5 leftover coins/wood/stone/servants. If toggled, each player is dealt a hand of 4 Leader cards at the beginning of the game. They must select 1 to keep and pass the remaining 3 to the next player. NekonyancerEach Leader has a *Requirement* and an *Ability.* If a player fulfills a Leader's Requirement, they can play that Leader and start using their ability.
