#68941: "Turn Counts for Randomized Track Layout Options"

Suggestion: in my opinion, the following would greatly improve the game implementation
Detailed description
• Please explain your suggestion precisely and concisely so that it's as easy as possible to understand what you mean.
The VektoraceNew Alpha game has a set 5 turns randomly positioned for a more dynamic setup than the set 4 track layouts in the production version of Vektorace. A step forward from the current "Alpha" build could be allowing users to select a specific number of turns (2-6?) and then a map would be randomly generated.
Basically this lets users be able to select how complex of a track they would want. A 2 turn track (with super sharp hairpins) would play entirely differently from a 6-turn track (that hopefully would have a bit of weaving in and out). This may help with tournament play, as 3-4 turn tracks would likely all be roughly similar and could be a better, normalized judge of player skill, where the 5-6 turn tracks could vary in their complexity (with players getting a bad draw of a super complex track or showcasing ones ability to adapt to a wider range of tracks).
I say all of this not knowing the code required to make this implementation work, the desires of the game developers/publishers, or the culture around this game irl / on BGA. It just seemed like a natural progression from set layouts to random 5 turn layouts to randomized layouts of variable turn counts.• What is your browser?

29. Jul 2022 18:48 • Table ID is not relevant. It was just the only way I could find to associate this suggestion with an actual game rather than the BGA system in general.
BROT42 • Developers agree that it is a good idea and intend to work on it:
22. Aug 2022 17:40 • Yes it's something i want to introduce in the game, but will come with time as now i don't have much time to work on it. It's not really difficult to do, but it requires testing all the possible generated tracks to make sure they are playable and enjoyable.
