BibleandboardGamesWelcome to Murus Gallicus! This is a simple, yet fun, abstract game. The goal is... Use your units to invade the enemy, by getting any of your pieces to the other end.1square_4_2001
BibleandboardGamesUnfortunately, due to a bug in the game, you cannot play the moves, but you will still be able to learn this simple game.2archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment000
BibleandboardGamesOn your turn, you select any of your [red]towers[/red] (any of your stacks of two pieces) and a [green]destination square[/green] two spaces away from it in any direction. One piece is placed on [green]this square,[/green] and one on the [blue]square between[/blue] it and your original location.
This is what our opponent did.3square_6_3000square_6_3 8 square_7_2 7 square_8_1 6
BibleandboardGamesYou cannot land on top of a space already containing two of your own pieces, or an opponent's piece.
The arrows show where we could move our [green]corner piece.[/green]414001square_6_5 12 square_6_7 13 square_7_7 13 31 8 32 8 square_8_7 15
BibleandboardGamesLet's start playing! We are going to move the tower outlined in [red]red[/red] to the square the arrow is pointing to.5square_6_5000square_6_5 12 square_8_7 6
BibleandboardGames*Limdy*, our opponent, moved here, and since they landed on another one of their pieces, they have created a new tower they can use on a later turn.1square_6_361a9493c1309700square_6_1 10 square_6_3 7
BibleandboardGamesOur turn again! Let's move the tower I outlined in [red]red[/red]. Where could we move it so we could gain a new tower with it? Hit *Continue* when you think you know.3square_3_361a9493c1d17401square_5_5 18 20 19 square_7_5 17 square_7_7 6
BibleandboardGamesHere, because we will leave a piece on the blue square as we go by.
[tip] Note we could not go to option three, because we would be placing a third piece on a stack.4square_7_561a9493c1d17400square_5_7 13 square_7_5 16 square_7_6 7
BibleandboardGamesTerrific. I am going to skip ahead now to show you one other thing you can do on your turn. While I do, you can watch how the game advances over time.11861a95df99d4bc01
BibleandboardGamesHere our opponent can do another action. On your turn you can either *move*, (which I have already explained, and will be the majority of actions) or *sacrifice a tower*, which I am about to show you.1square_5_361ad2e392b79801
BibleandboardGamesTo *sacrifice a tower* you must have a tower (remember, a stack of two pieces) beside an opponent's single piece (or blocker).
For your turn, you remove one piece from your tower and the adjacent single piece. Both sides lose one piece.2square_1_361ad2e392b79801square_5_4 1 square_6_4 1
BibleandboardGamesSince both players lose the same amount, neither side will ever have more pieces than the other, only perhaps a better position, but doing this can damage an opponent's plan, or allow you to break through.3archivecontrol_editmode_centercomment61ad2e392b79800
BibleandboardGamesAnd that is all there is to Murus Gallicus! Maybe I'll see you at a table ;)11861ad35f5a32f701
