#70096: "Turn based games: No need for judge action if word guessed or skipped"
What is this report about?
What happened ? Please select from below
The interface blocked me to do some game action authorized by the rules
Detailed description
• Which was the game action you wanted to do?
Turn-based game. The guesser either
a) gives the mysterious word (which the system detects automatically) or
b) skips guessing
In both of these cases there is no need for the judge to act (only if the guesser gave a word that didn't match the mysterious word exactly)
Currently a notification is sent to the judge, who after logging in and going to the game, can only watch the game move to the next word (or the game end if it was the last word).• What do you try to do to trigger this game action?
• What happened when you try to do this (error message, game status bar message, ...)?
• What is your browser?
Google Chrome v104

19. Aug 2022 20:35 • No need to send this notification to judge to move the game forward.
In real time games this does't occur, the games move on without the judge acting.

Games like The Crew have is as a game setting for each player. I'm not familiar with all use cases on this kind of feature to know if it should be global or local option.

If the judge has the browser tab in the background (say they are watching videos or shopping or otherwise multitasking during the game), the JavaScript to automatically click "confirm" may not run until they refocus the browser tab. Ditto if the judge loses Internet connection. Everyone else is waiting unnecessarily in this case. Whenever possible, directly advance to the next state in PHP side to avoid any such waiting (turn-based or not).
