23. Jul 2021 19:16 • It looks more 'dynamic' for seven players, and perhaps more fun for renegade too.
In bgg voting 7player (67% voted) is much more suggested than 5 (only 30%).
If the suggested setting is switch to 7, it is easier to play in 7, since currently simply mode players would automatically make a 5p table (they would follow suggested player count), They would take away people once it reaches 5, and make it harder to wait for 7people.
Thanks for helping.
I also propose changing suggested player count of Skull, from 3 to 6. It's me in that report too! :D

26. Jul 2021 18:56 • now I am not sure
in 5p it is quite difficult not for the sheriff team to win (assume they are experienced), unless people can find and kill the vice first, but it's hard. And for situation when a full hp sheriff, a vice and another guy left, it's almost a guarantee win (a vice should agree not to play a miss / beer, and let his hp drop to 1, with the other player. if the other player do not agree, he is discovered. if he agrees, he lost when 1v1 to sheriff).
in 7p adding 1 outlaws and 1 vice is too beneficial to the sheriff side (there are double amount of vice, but only 50% increase in size for outlaws).
I haven't tried 6, hope it would be better!
I also find the game unexpectably slow, often has 15-20 minutes to play, just to see who has better cards and win once all roles become clear. decision making does not matter that much, and the social deduction part doesn't affect much in the game.

But your forget the Renegade, the first half of the game, he acts as a Vice(Deputy) too.

Adding 1 outlaw and 1 vice is actually beneficial for the outlaws. You always have the Sheriff buffed (+1 life, first move of the game) and Renegade swinging for balance but slightly in favor for law (since Sheriff must survive). So let's say these elements add .5 to the law side. Then, in 5p, it is 2 vs 2.5 and in 7p it is 3 vs 3.5. The marginal benefit is thus smaller (but still existent) for the law in a 7p game.
