Due to the way the game was programmed (and me being a maintainer and not the original developer), it's not easy to check and add an automatic loss for this rare but possible case.
What I did is, like for other similar abstract games, to adjust the game progression to allow for conceding.
So if a player has no valid move left, they can now concede the game.

I had no legal move and I couldn't concede the game as it was a tournament game...

Indeed, conceding is not available on tournaments, thanks for reminding me about this.
I took another go at this and was able to implement an automatic loss for this case.
